Biltmore Fashion Park
In 1963 what was once considered the “outskirts” of Phoenix, Biltmore Fashion park opened on the 31 acres of land it now resides on today. Attracting the celebrity eyes of Bob Hope, John Wayne, Princess Grace of Monaco, Barry Goldwater, Red Skelton, and Sophia Loren, it was the city’s original luxurious shopping and dining attraction.
The $115 million purchase by Taubman Centers helped the Biltmore Fashion Park expand their luxury shopping center in the mid 1990s. The Fashion Park experienced a major transformation during this period. Adding in Sak Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Cartier, Christofle, Escada, Louis Vuitton, and many other high end retailers. And during the early 2000’s the Biltmore Fashion Park was purchased by a company called Westcor. Westcor decided the Fashion Park needed a major renovation due to the new nearby luxury fashion centers in the Scottsdale area.
Today, Biltmore Fashion Park’s major shops are Macys, Saks Fifth Avenue, Coach, Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, The Clotherie, and the White House Black Market. The center has many delicious eateries too such as Black Chile Mexican Grill, California Pizza Kitchen, The Capital Grille, The Cheesecake Factory, Christopher’s Restaurant and Crush Lounge, Seasons 52, Stingray Sushi, True Food Kitchen, and Zinburger. Biltmore Fashion Park still serves today as one of the greatest homes to the finest dinning and shopping. Maybe that’s why it’s still known as the “crown jewel”.
Best known as the “Jewel of the Desert” the Arizona Biltmore opened in November, 1929. In 1930 the McArthur’s lost the property to William Wrigley Jr, one of their primary investors and owner of another Point of Interest, The Wrigley Mansion. Wrigley then became primary owner to The Biltmore.
