Looking for some ways to get into the holiday spirit? Here are some fun and festive things in the Valley to do this December!
NOVEMBER 23RD TO JANUARY 8TH FROM 5:30 – 10:30 PM AT THE PHOENIX ZOO
ZooLights is a magical event that will illuminate your holiday season. The nightly evening viewings feature millions of lights, hundreds of sparkling displays throughout the zoo and more activities and performances.
DECEMBER 2ND FROM 6-10PM AT MEDLOCK PLAZA, 10 W. CAMELBACK RD. PHOENIX
Voted New Times “Best Craft Festival”, this annual DIY market is a gathering of local artists who sell their handmade knits, jewelry, paper goods, paintings, buttons, accessories, and more. More than 30 vendors will be at the Medlock Plaza for the event.
DECEMBER 2nd – 4th FROM 10AM – 5:30PM MILL AVE BETWEEN UNIVERSITY DRIVE AND RIO SALADO PARKWAY
This year the festival will be showcasing over 300 artists from around the country, this admission-free festival includes fan favorites such as food, drink, carnival fare, live entertainment, street performers, three stages programmed with top musical talent, family friendly activities and more!
DECEMBER 3rd @ CELEBRITY THEATER
This holiday season Alice Cooper will be raising the dead with his fellow Hollywood Vampires, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry, along with Sammy Hagar as headliners for the shock rocker’s 15th Annual Christmas Pudding. Proceeds from the event directly benefit Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Center.

It’s more than just a movie. Street Food Cinema is the largest outdoor movie series featuring cool movies, tasty food trucks, live music, interactive games and more! Always on the grass, Street Food Cinema is three events in one: an outdoor picnic that evolves into a live music performance and outdoor movie with lots of fun in between.
DECEMBER 3rd – 4TH FROM 10AM TO 5PM AT SCOTTSDALE CIVIC CENTER MALL
The festival connects community with people and culture of Asia and allows attendees to visit educational marketplace booths depicting the life, culture and beauty of Asian communities. It is a unique extravaganza that includes artifact displays and hands-on activities such as a traditional fashion show, Asian cuisine, calligraphy, origami, performances, games and tea ceremony.
DECEMBER 3rd (11am – 6pm) @ MESA RIVERVIEW PARK
Dig into food truck vendors and restaurants at a festival featuring a free kids zone, local celebrity chef demonstrations, musical acts and beer and wine for purchase.
DECEMBER 8TH AND 15TH FROM 5PM-10PM AT PHOENIX PUBLIC MARKET, 721 N. CENTRAL AVE.
Shop local at Phoestivus this holiday season when selecting gifts or preparing meals! Attendees will have the opportunity to shop over 130 local vendors, showcasing a unique variety of locally grown, produced and prepared foods as well as hand-crafted gift items, jewelry and holiday decorations made by local artisans.
DECEMBER 10TH FROM 8AM-12PM AT FREESTONE PARK (1045 E. JUNIPER AVE. GILBERT, AZ)
This unique family festival celebrates health, fitness and the joy of Christmas, while supporting local animal rescue groups. The event includes a 12k run, 6k run/walk and a 1.2k Santa “Sled Run”, plus a Christmas Bazaar, Santa’s Pet Village with pet adoptions, and live Christmas entertainment in the park and along the race course.
Wear a Santa suit, dress up the kids as elves, put costumes on your pets, and decorate your wagons and strollers. There will be wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree for the Best Decorated Entry in the 1.2k, Best Christmas Themed Running Outfits, Cutest Costumes, Best-Dressed Pets and Most Christmas Spirit
NOVEMBER 25TH TO JANUARY 8TH AT PHOENIX CITYSCAPE
Get into the spirit of winter by skating on a real ice rink in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Central Avenue is transformed into an ice skater’s dream, decorated with a massive holiday tree and thousands of twinkling lights. Bystanders watching over the rink from Patriots Park will enjoy a nightly snowfall. Santa will make an appearance every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for photos. New this year, guests can expect experiential holiday décor placed throughout CityScape that is interactive and selfie-worthy, like massive lighted presents that you can walk through. Plus, ArtLink will have art installations and murals on display from local artists. You can also grab a cup of hot cocoa from the Hot Chocolate Bar at Patriots Park.
