The holidays are gone and it is time to look forward to a great new year! Here are some events going on around Phoenix this January to start 2017 off right.

 

LIGHTS OF THE WORLD LANTERN FESTIVAL

NOW THROUGH JANUARY 29  (FRIDAYS 5:00PM-10:00PM, SATURDAYS 12PM-10PM, SUNDAYS 12PM-8PM) @ RAWHIDE

The world’s largest lantern festival has come to Arizona! Perfect for families, date night and so much more. Rawhide will shine with a magical world of light and cultural entertainment during the Lights of the World Lantern Festival. New technology brings different civilizations and cultures from around the globe to Arizona with breathtaking showcases of lights.

 

MARICOPA COUNTY HOME AND GARDEN SHOW

JANUARY 13-15 (10:00AM-6:00PM) @ ARIZONA STATE FAIR GROUNDS

The Southwest’s largest home and garden show returns to Arizona, complete with hundreds of home improvement, design and landscaping products and services at exclusive prices.

 

CHANDLER INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

JANUARY 13-15 @ SOHO63 IN CHANDLER

This three day long festival will incorporate films, galas, dinner, and movies all themed around Hollywood. The focus is to showcase creative independent film direction through diversity, innovation and uniqueness while capturing the series of movements and experiences in a single film.

 

46TH ANNUAL BARRETT-JACKSON AUCTION

JANUARY 14-22 (8:00AM-5:00PM) @ WESTWORLD OF SCOTTSDALE

Get your bidding paddles ready or simply just admire thousands of exceptional vehicles and hundreds of authentic vintage automobilia pieces as they cross the block. Go on a shopping spree in the vast Barrett-Jackson marketplace. Check out the Bull-Riding Challenge and cheer on the professional bull riders in the ring. Experience exciting Ride ‘N Drives and Thrill Rides from Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge. Rock out to some live music while enjoying the electric atmosphere.

 

ARIZONA PBS KIDS FESTIVAL

JANUARY 16 (10:00AM-2:00PM) @ ARIZONA PBS/CRONKITE SCHOOL

Arizona PBS is hosting a public celebration next month, featuring characters from PBS KIDS programs and interactive activities for children to mark the launch of its new children’s channel. Appearances will include The Cat in the Hat, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George and Daniel Tiger, and others!

 

LET IT SNOW

JANUARY 19 (5:30PM-7:00PM) @ CHANDLER COMMUNITY CENTER

It may not feel like winter now, but there is a snowstorm blowing in at Tumbleweed Recreation Center, estimated to arrive on January 19th! They will be making it snow for their monthly Family Night event. Kids can enjoy the magic of snowfall, for some even their first sight of snow, and enjoy creating traditional winter crafts.

 

ARIZONA GAME FAIR

JANUARY 21-22 (8:00AM-5:00PM) @ MESA CONVENTION CENTER

The ultimate family game night times 10! Looking to play your favorite board, card, party, or role-playing game, this is the spot for you! The game fair is a tabletop gaming convention offering over 6,000 square feet of space for you to play games featured in their large library of board and card games and 128 hours of scheduled role-playing games.

 

MISS BLACK ARIZONA AND TALENTED TEEN USA

JANUARY 28 (5:00PM-8:30PM) @ PAIDEIA ACADEMY SOUTH PHOENIX

Come out and cheer on your local girls as they compete for the title and honor of becoming Miss Black Arizona & Talented Teen USA 2017! Who will win the crown? Come watch and support your next queen, red carpet starts at 5:00 PM and the show starts at 6:00PM. Local celebrity Linda De Florias, former Miss Arizona USA and CBS5 AZ news anchor, is hosting so be sure to get your tickets right away because this is sure to be a sold out event!

 

THE 90’S CRAWL

JANUARY 28 (1:00PM-7:00PM) @ OLD TOWN SCOTTSDALE

Flashback to the 90’s and crawl from bar to bar with totally rad dudes and dudettes while enjoying your favorite music from the decade along with great drink specials! Ticket prices increase as more sell, so get yours early!
