Breakfast in Phoenix
November 9, 2016 - By Morgan Renyer
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! If you need a new place to try this weekend, head over to one of these amazing restaurants.
Located in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, you will always find Matt’s Big Breakfast full of satisfied customers! The homemade honey lemonade, bottomless coffee and the fresh squeezed orange juice are the best way to start your morning. Followed by sweet, fluffy pancakes, Belgium waffles or The Chop & Chick (a hearty plate filled with a pork chop, eggs and hash browns/home fries). Although the restaurant itself is fairly small and the menu isn’t very long, the wait is always worth it and you will never leave disappointed.
Looking for some outstanding French Toast? Look no further! The Original Breakfast House is known for its HUGE, fluffy “San Francisco” style french toast. Thick slices of sourdough bread, soaked in egg batter, vanilla & cinnamon, and then deep fried until its slightly crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside. If sweet food isn’t your thing, the menu still has plenty more to offer. The homemade biscuits & gravy or the breakfast sandwich come highly recommended from former patrons, as well as the scrambles and Huevos Rancheros Verde.
From traditional breakfast foods to innovative new creations, Butters Pancakes and Cafe has something for everyone. The offer 13 different types of pancakes ranging from the traditional buttermilk to things like cinnamon roll cakes, protein power cakes and wild berry bliss cakes! They also offer dozens of scrambles, skillets, omelettes, and Benedict’s all served with fresh, crispy hash browns. Friendly staff, quick service, and amazing food is what bring people back to this local Scottsdale breakfast joint!
Located in Charles Miller Square in Old Town Scottsdale is Alo Cafe. They offer a menu based on a unique take on classic European style breakfast and lunch. There is intimate patio with outdoor seating, as well as a small, 30 person indoor seating area. The unique menu offers things to satisfy those who are looking for something sweet or savory. The Waffle Cristo is a take on the traditional Monte Cristo and is filled with triple berry jam, syrup, ham, turkey, swiss, an over easy egg, all on a freshly made waffle. For those looking for a more savory option, the Huevos de Madrid is soft-folded eggs filled with smoked salmon and shrimp. This is definitely the place to go if you want to try something that you can’t find anywhere else!
If you’re looking for a classic American breakfast with a Southwest twist, head over to Perk Eatery! Perk Eatery was featured on Diners, Drive-In & Dives on the Food Network for their outstanding breakfast enchiladas, chicken on the coup and wine country french toast. The breakfast enchilada never disappoint and come highly recommended by everyone who has tried them. They are filled with homemade chipotle ricotta, black beans & roasted pork with New Mexico red chili sauce and two eggs! If you’re not ready to try something new, the classic pancakes, waffles, omelettes and scrambles are also available.
